apacheradio asked: why, are you incredible. sorry, that's a statement. why are you incredible?
Why!? You want to know why!!? I’ll tell you why!! Same reason you are, THIS CITY! THAT’S WHY!!
(I’m feeling a lot of RVA love as of late, thanks guys!)

stretchthebow asked: Hello! Local Richmond-er here just wanting to tell you that your music is fucking fantastic, and truly inspiring to the local music scene. Please continue to create these wonderful tapestries of sound and color. <3
Wow, thank you so much!!! It is this scene you speak of that inspired me to start seriously working on music again, and I am incredibly grateful and appreciative to be a part of it. Even though I very recently just sent off the new album for mastering, I’ve already started working on the next project, so there is no end in sight for the waysof brand of sound and color (I love that description by the way). Thanks again!
Listen to the song version:
A Subtle Misspelling by Way Shape or Form
Preparing to record the last two lines of vocals for the album. As you can see, I’ve spared no expense. (Taken with instagram)
Recording keyboard for the song Tenants. I think I finally found a use for the pitch wheel that doesn’t sound silly. This is the sprawling instrumental song of the album, so it’s kind of like a kick back to Trapezoid Campaign.
Major mile-marker: lyrics for the last song = completed! Preparing to record. (Taken with instagram)
I just finished my first lyrical collaboration with Glory Szabo, and now I get to present my first long-distance audio collaboration with Nicole Salzbach! Some of you may remember her from the song Eye Contact, where she did a completely improvised violin part after hearing the song only a few times in advance (so ridiculous!!!). Now, she’s added more violin to a song called Tenants. I was actually planning on adding vocals to this section, but after hearing her violin part I realized it was completely unnecessary, as the tension she creates here speaks volumes on it’s own.
Nicole lives in Asheville, North Carolina and plays with a band called Leopard Island. Also check them out on YouTube and Facebook!
Look for this song, A Subtle Misspelling, on the upcoming album “Person, Place, or Thing” later this summer!

Well I’m as cool as a cucumber in a bowl of hot sauce
I was actually listening to Hot Sauce Committee pt.2 earlier today and was thinking about how awesome these dudes are before I heard the news. I’ve listened to the Beastie Boys since 6th grade. I am literally fighting tears while writing this. It really won’t be the same without MCA. This is a sad, saaaaaad day.
